World War Two Memorial - Nauru

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

Batstones Memorials recently completed hundreds of individual memorial plaques as part of a grand monument commemorating soldiers who perished in Nauru during World War Two. Nauru was a Pacific Island significantly affected during this war and the attacks on the area led to many soldiers, losing their life. The large monument features enduring blue pearl granite with silver engraved lettering on each of the memorial plaques. The process of designing the monument and plaques took several months of collaboration between our stonemasons in Brisbane and builders in Nauru. The night of the unveiling, the rain did not keep up, however this did not hinder the heartfelt moments of seeing the grand monument finally unveiled and those soldiers who suffered remembered.
